Earth Wind & Fire Banner for 2011 Monster Retailers Award
Earth Wind & Fire, celebrating their 40th anniversary this year headlined the Monster Retailers Awards Party at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Last year Stevie made a surprise appearance at the show headlined by John Legend. This year, not to disappoint, Stevie again graced the Monster Concert stage to jam with EWF.

Introduced on stage by Noel Lee, CEO of Monster, Stevie said a few words of thanks and his appreciation of EWF’s music and their influence on him while writing the song I Wish. They then ventured into an impromptu medley of Shining Star and I Wish. (See video below.)

At the after show party, Raphael Saadiq performed a few songs followed at 2am by EWF and Marcus Miller who played A Love Bizarre with Sheila E (her 1985 hit written by Prince). She then introduced Stevie who jammed on his harmonica for a while playing extracts of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On. He then got behind the keyboard and jammed for a while before singing extracts of Superstition, As, Uptight, and Tell Me Something Good.

Many thanks to Tim Page of Sony Marketing (UK) for providing info, photos and videos.
